OLS 180 - Career Pathways

Students develop a plan that includes further education, learning objectives, worksite experiences or activities, and evaluations specific to their career pathway. Specific career goals are set with measurable outcomes.  Course is graded Credit/No Credit.

Prerequisite(s): OLS 143  and OLS 174  

Course Outcomes
  • Describe why you should use strengths, not weaknesses, when planning your career pathway 

  • List previously assessed personal interests, skills, and strengths as they relate to job/career selection and transferable work skills 

  • Describe and compare how personal values affect work/career choices 

  • Complete career-specific informational interviews, observation,s and tours 

  • Compile and compare the information gathered from career-specific informational interviews, observations, and tours 

  • Define and present a personal career pathway, and create long- and short-term career goals that align with it.
