PHIL 206 - Philosophy of Feminism

This course will develop an understanding of feminism through a theoretical, humanities based framework employing a contemporary feminist analysis of philosophical theories including ethics, metaphysics and epistemology.

Recommended: PHIL&101 or PHIL 102
Course Outcomes
Articulate, through written word or discussion, the difference between theoretical and sociological feminist theories. Analyze classic philosophical texts and/or theories using Feminist critical theory. Utilize the language of theoretical feminism to create philosophical arguments. Demonstrate knoledge and use of the philosophical theory of feminism to analyzing a text, evaluating a theory or providing a solution to a theoretical problem in writing. Analyze and evaluate feminist ethics and epistemology through discussion and/or philosophical argumentative essays.
