ELA 41 - English for Health, First Aid 5 CR
Students develop speaking, listening, and reading skills to communicate about First Aid health situations, including words and phrases to communicate anatomy, symptoms, and procedures. The course covers the language needed to prepare for beginning First Aid certification.
This is high beginning to advanced English for English Language Learners.

- Describe events, concepts, and procedures in a health First Aid text. (CCR R 3.B: ELP 9.4)
- Communicate a First Aid situation clearly enough for listeners to understand. (CCR SL 4.B: ELP 3.4)
- Determine the main ideas and details of First Aid information in diverse media formats. (CCR SL 2.B); Paraphrase and apply information presented in diverse media and formats.
- Use academic words and phrases for First Aid. Determine or clarify the meaning of unknown and multiple-meaning words and phrases using context and word parts. (CCR L 4.B: ELP 8.4)
