HPM 360 - Epidemiology and Health Care Statistics


5 CR

Presents the fundamentals of epidemiology including infectious disease, environmental epidemiology, chronic disease, experimental study design, observation and data interpretation. Students engage in a comprehensive study of epidemiology through the human life span.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the BAS Health Promotion and Management program at Bellevue College.

Course Outcomes
• Articulate the role of epidemiology in public health and the role of state, federal and local health agencies. • Review research methods and statistical data used in epidemiological studies. • Develop evidence-based needs assessment for a defined population group.
