This program is designed for students that have an interest in focusing or targeting their learning Visual Design. The Visual Design track is a newer field in the Greater Seattle area. It combines the fields of Graphic Design, Motion Design, Web Design, and UX/UI Design. This certificate will provide a clear pathway for students that either want to transition into the field or students that want to generalize their learning across the many design disciplines.
Learning Outcomes
- Describe and apply the elements and principles of design and animation
- Generate ideas and employ an iterative visual design process to bring ideas to fruition
- Identify the importance and the critical steps in testing for usability at different stages of the development cycle
- Create a targeted group of graphic assets using multiple tools and procedures
- Develop and describe an economical, sustainable, and ethical work-flow for addressing client needs and producing necessary graphics
- Identify the design elements that will provide a user-friendly presentation
- Demonstrate knowledge of typographic families and best use practices in choosing fonts for the screen
- Demonstrate understanding of basic layout techniques
