Eastern at Bellevue College


Eastern Washington University (EWU)  and Bellevue College (BC) have partnered for more than a decade to serve the BC student body and regional population with career advancement opportunities through high-quality baccalaureate degree completion programs.

This program offers evening-based classes held on the Bellevue College campus.

B.A. in Psychology

The EWU Psychology undergraduate degree program is designed to cover the essential areas of contemporary psychology and offer opportunities for focused and specialized learning. Students have the opportunity to be actively involved with current research and internship opportunities in the community.

A psychology minor is also available to students pursuing other majors.

B.S. in Health Psychology

In the Health Psychology Bachelor of Science Program, you will gain an understanding of the ways that psychological, behavioral, and cultural factors relate to physical health. Courses explore how patients interact with healthcare providers and the healthcare system, and impact positive health. With a degree in health psychology, you will be prepared to work in social services and health education or pursue a graduate degree. The health psychology degree pairs well with many of the minors offered through the College of Health Science and Public Health.


B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies

The EWU Interdisciplinary studies degree in social sciences provides a strong foundation in social science theory and research for career preparation, advancement or entrance to graduate studies.

  • Social Science- This track is designed for the student who is seeking a wide and varied curriculum that builds on a social science foundation.
  • Prior Learning- This track is designed for the adult learner and based on the philosophy that adult learners have acquired university-level learning through career experience. Students earn college credit by illustrating their experience with a portfolio that is evaluated by university faculty.

B.A. in Children’s Studies

Eastern Washington University’s major in Children’s Studies was the first in the nation. The curriculum of this interdisciplinary program focuses on the developmental, learning and social issues of children from birth to 18. The Children’s Studies Program incorporates coursework from departments across the university, including Education, Psychology, Geography, and Social Work. The following major options are available online:

  • Child Life and Health-The Child Life and Health option is designed for students pursuing certification in Child Life with the Association of Child Life Professionals and for those pursuing graduate work for future employment in medical fields working with children
  • Child Services- The Child Services option is designed for students interested in pursuing work with children and/or families at the agency-level. The scope of applicable careers is vast—adoption agencies, district health and service agencies, court-appointed special advocates (CASA), program directors, agency support.
