Same as PHIL 263 Explores values, ethics, and legal decision-making frameworks and policies used to support the well-being of people and groups within the context of healthcare professions with emphasis on nursing ethics and professionalism.
Prerequisite(s): NURS 125 with a C or better
Course Outcomes
- Explain and illustrate the 9 provisions of the ANA Nursing code of ethics.
- Identify & explain the theoretical foundations of provisions of the ANA Nursing Code of Ethics
- Apply ethical theory & the ANA Nursing Code of Ethics to case studies from medical practice.
- Discuss responsibility and accountability in professional nursing practice.
- Identify core competencies for health professionals to professional nursing practice.
