ELA 25 - High Intermediate ELA 1-10 CR
Students develop reading, writing, speaking, listening, and using technology in the context of rotating topics: Public Service & Community Engagement, Business, and Health Sciences.
This is high intermediate English for English Language Learners.

- Refer to details and examples in a text when explaining what the text says explicitly and when drawing inferences from the text. (CCR Reading Anchor 1.C: ELP 1.5; ILO Critical Thinking)
- Determine the meaning of words and phrases as they are used in a text. (CCR Reading Anchor 4.C: ELP 8.5)
- Describe the overall structure (e.g., chronology, comparison, cause/effect, problem/solution) of events, ideas, concepts, or information in a text or part of a text. (CCR Reading Anchor 5C)
- Rotating task and purpose: Write informative/explanatory texts to examine a topic and convey ideas and information clearly. (CCR Writing Anchor 2.C: ELP 3.5) or write opinion pieces on topics or texts, supporting a point of view with reasons and information. (CCR Writing Anchor 1.C: ELP 4.5)
- Engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one-on-one, in groups, and teacher-led) with diverse partners, building on others’ ideas and expressing your so that the listeners can follow. (CCR Speaking & Listening Anchor 1.C: ELP 2.5)
- Restate parts of something you heard, read, or saw from a video, chart, or spoken information. (CCR Speaking & Listening Anchor 2.C: ELP 1.5)
