NDT 256 - Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Case Review I

Students will participate in an online, semi-asynchronous class environment which will focus on weekly selection and presentation of surgical cases that they personally took part in monitoring. Students will record themselves delivering a prepared presentation that describes the patient’s presentation, past medical history, surgery, intraoperative neuromonitoring findings, and post-operative outcomes. 

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Certificate program

Course Outcomes
  • Analyze and review a completed intraoperative neuromonitoring recording
  • Identify opportunities for improvement
  • Prepare several succinct presentations for a group of peers to include the following information:
    • Relevant patient history
    • Proposed surgery
    • Monitoring plan
    • Surgical events
    • Significant changes
    • Corrective actions taken
    • Post-operative patient outcome
