NDT 256 - Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Case Review I 1 CR
Students will participate in an online, semi-asynchronous class environment which will focus on weekly selection and presentation of surgical cases that they personally took part in monitoring. Students will record themselves delivering a prepared presentation that describes the patient’s presentation, past medical history, surgery, intraoperative neuromonitoring findings, and post-operative outcomes.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Intraoperative Neuromonitoring Certificate program
Course Outcomes
- Analyze and review a completed intraoperative neuromonitoring recording
- Identify opportunities for improvement
- Prepare several succinct presentations for a group of peers to include the following information:
- Relevant patient history
- Proposed surgery
- Monitoring plan
- Surgical events
- Significant changes
- Corrective actions taken
- Post-operative patient outcome
