Elementary-level Japanese II. Continues to develop oral communication skills along with reading and writing, including kanji. Some relevant aspects of Japanese culture are introduced. This course requires real-time interactive language practice.

Recommended: JAPN 121 or equivalent or instructor permission.
Course Outcomes

Read and write 86 kanji and related compound words
Know te-forms and present tense short forms
Read and write simple and compound sentences
Engage in basic conversation, such as describing things, talking about family, and discussing likes/dislikes
Communicate in a culturally appropriate way
