JAPN& 223 - Japanese VI 5 CR
Elementary-level Japanese VI. Continues to develop oral communication skills along with reading and writing, including kanji. Some relevant aspects of Japanese culture are introduced. This course requires real-time interactive language practice.
Recommended: JAPN 222 or equivalent or instructor permission Course Outcomes
- Read and write 317 kanji (including 61 new characters) and related compound words
- Know passive, causative, and causative-passive forms
- Use increasingly complex sentence structures approaching the intermediate level
- Engage in more diverse conversations, including informal and formal/honorific/humble styles
- Communicate in a culturally appropriate way
