EXPRL 180 - Skills for Navigating College & Career 2 CR
Introduce and explore four areas which may be difficult for students: executive functioning, social interaction, self-advocacy and self-regulation. This includes learning to identify strengths and weaknesses, as well as strategies for success.
Prerequisite(s): Permission of instructor, cohort class.
Course Outcomes
- Define Executive Functioning, Self-Advocacy, Self Regulation and Social Interaction.
- Describe how these issues may affect themselves and others.
- Identify, and help others identify, specific interventions and accommodations to make the most of their personal strengths and difficulties.
- Identify and help others to identify personal goals and priorities related to these areas.
- Develop a personal plan and help others make a plan for accommodation, maximizing strengths, and improving skills in each area.
