PE 111 - Life Fitness Training II

Gym Fitness Builds upon the foundations created in PE 110 using guided group workouts in select gym specific workout modalities. Cardiorespiratory programming, Olympic lifting, Resistance training equipment and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).    

Students meet at scheduled times twice weekly for group guided modality instruction. 

Recommended: Learn and apply various exercise techniques within a fitness center setting using fitness equipment and specialized training modalities to build upon learning developed in PE 110.  
Prerequisite(s): PE 110 .

Course Outcomes

  • Increased knowledge and safe practical application of specific gym training modalities; Olympic lifting, advanced resistance training, cardiorespiratory programming, and High Intensity Interval training (HIIT) 

  • Become familiar with periodization, load manipulation and exercise modifications for gym training modalities. 

  • Benefit from improved strength, coordination, agility, and cardiorespiratory improvements 

  • Learn and develop long-term exercise programming skills for continued gym exercise participation.
