HPM 445 - Public Health Program Development and Evaluation 5 CR
This course provides an overview of the principles and practices of public health program development and evaluation. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the key steps involved in developing, implementing, and evaluating effective public health programs. The course will cover a range of topics, including needs assessment, program planning, implementation strategies, data collection and analysis, and reporting findings.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Health Promotion and Education program, or permission of the Program Chair.
Course Outcomes
- Define public health programs and their role in promoting health and preventing disease.
- Identify the key steps involved in developing and evaluating public health programs.
- Conduct a needs assessment to identify public health priorities.
- Develop a program logic model to guide program planning and evaluation.
- Select appropriate implementation strategies for public health programs.
- Design and conduct evaluations to assess program effectiveness.
- Analyze and interpret evaluation data.
- Communicate evaluation findings to stakeholders.
