HPM 465 - Health Promotion Practicum 5 CR
This capstone course provides students with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout the Health Promotion and Education program in a real-world setting. Students will work with faculty, mentors and community partners to design, implement, and evaluate a health promotion project that addresses a need within an organization or community. Grading: Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory.
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Health Promotion and Education program.
Course Outcomes
- Identify and assess a community’s health needs and resources.
- Develop and implement a culturally competent health promotion intervention.
- Develop leadership and project management skills necessary for a successful career in health promotion.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of a health promotion intervention using appropriate research methods.
- Communicate project findings effectively to diverse audiences.
