OLS 155 - Yoga for Life Balance


1 CR

Covers basic Yoga postures, breathing techniques, anatomy and physiology to enhance balance, self control, self confidence, and physical competence. Emphasis is placed on integrating these elements within the individual and into their life. Course is graded Credit/No Credit.

Prerequisite(s): Acceptance into Program.

Course Outcomes
  • Demonstrate Sun Salutation A and B components.
  • Explain the relationship between mind and body in reducing stress.
  • Discuss diaphragmatic breathing and its benefits.
  • Apply proper safety techniques for sitting and standing postures.
  • Discuss the benefits of meditation and relaxation through breath.
  • Grasp how yoga methods can improve flexibility, postural, and core strength.
  • Explain how a planned yoga program can support health and wellness.
