MUSC 165 - Guitar Ensemble 3 CR
The guitar ensemble is a performing group that explores composed and arranged literature from various genres for guitar duos, trios, quartets, and larger groups. In this course, students will develop the foundations of guitar ensemble playing. The focus is on guitar technique and reading music, with a strong emphasis on developing musicianship and performance skills. Student audition required.
Course Outcomes
- Use metronome, and apply active listening to develop effective rehearsal techniques.
- Reflect, evaluate, and assess technical proficiency during the process of learning and improving pieces.
- Develop and identify the optimal left and right-hand fingering while learning guitar parts.
- Perform in a duo, trio, or larger ensemble for the final presentation.
