This degree provides students with an in-depth, applied education earning a degree for employment in the health and fitness field, beyond a certificate. 

Learning Outcomes

Degree recipients should possess the following skills and abilities:

  • Evaluate human movement and physical activity to create exercise programs for diverse populations. 

  • Students will be prepared to enter careers that support and impact healthy human functioning, including general health-seeking populations or athletes. 
  • Identify foundational exercise science principles such as kinesiology terminology, theories, principles, applications, and practices as they relate to health, human movement, physical activity, and performance. 
  • Identify, evaluate, and apply scholarly sources and demonstrate applications to real-world situations within Exercise Sciences. 
  • Use writing, verbal expression, and technology to communicate disciplinary knowledge and expertise as terminology, theories, principles, applications, and practices. 

Degree Requirements

  • Completion of all required courses as shown in the worksheet for each Core Course with a grade of “C” or better.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 for all coursework taken at BC and the courses applied to the degree, including credits transferred from other colleges.
  • A course cannot be applied toward more than one distribution area.
  • Bellevue College requires that at least one of the courses taken for the degree meets the College’s Diversity degree requirement
