HCI 375 - Agile Project Management for Healthcare

Previously HCTM 375.
Introduces Agile project management, an iterative, rapid-release approach to delivering and improving project pieces throughout the project life cycle. Students learn Scrum, Kanban, Lean, Extreme programming (XP), test-driven development (TDD), and hybrid methods. Students apply Agile principles to a healthcare project. 

Prerequisite(s): Admission to any baccalaureate program at Bellevue College. 

Course Outcomes
  • Explain the project management roles and responsibilities of the agile project manager, the sponsor, and the scrum master 
  • Describe and compare agile approaches and methods to the application of traditional project management techniques 
  • Evaluate the agile methodologies defined by PMI’s Agile Practice Guide, and assess how each is applied and why each is important for effective healthcare agile project management. 
  • Evaluate examples of successful and unsuccessful agile approaches and identify key problem areas 
  • Develop a healthcare-related agile project plan following appropriate steps
