NURS 122 - Nursing Care of the Adult Client I

Formerly known as NURS 101X .
This is the first of two courses applying concepts of the nursing clinical judgment model to provide safe care to adult clients. Concepts of Quality Safety Education in Nursing (QSEN) are emphasized as it relates to patient-centered care, safety, evidence-based practice and teamwork. 

Prerequisite(s): NURS 120  with a grade of C or better, and NURS 121  with credit.

Course Outcomes
  • Apply the clinical judgement model to adult patient populations experiencing alterations in health.  
  • Develop cognitive and effective strategies to provide safe patient-centered care. 
  • Engage constructively and collaboratively with team members. 
  • Interpret quality improvement measures in nursing practice. 
  • Apply role components of professional nurse identity.
